The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Borno State Branch, under the leadership of its Chairman, Dr. El-Yakub Yakubu Mohammed, received with deep sorrow the tragic news of the recent Boko Haram attack on Darajamal, which claimed the lives of scores of innocent civilians and gallant soldiers.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, mni, FNSE, the bereaved families, and the resilient people of Darajamal community. We also commend the Governor for his swift and compassionate visit to the affected area, exemplifying true leadership in this period of grief.
The NMA Borno State Branch strongly condemns this heinous act of terror and calls for a renewed, intensified, and well-coordinated security response to decisively confront insurgency in our communities. The sacrifices of our fallen soldiers and civilians must not be in vain. We therefore urge the Federal Government, the military, and all security agencies to sustain an aggressive onslaught against terrorists, strengthen community security, and enhance collaboration with local stakeholders to restore lasting peace in Borno and the entire North-East.
We pray that Almighty Allah grant the departed Al-Jannah Firdaus, comfort the bereaved families, and protect our state from future tragedies.
